Disney World!

Well, we are in Disney World even as I speak! However the first day was horrible. I won't go into the whole spill but you see my mom won a trip.....supposedly....enough said!!! We had to sit through a seminar, which we knew about, but it was l...o...n...g. Luckily we had a good guy. Grant was with us and wanted to color or play with cars, everything but sit still for 90 min. LOL!! I knew that wouldn't happen in hopes they would have mercy and let us leave early. Yeah, well, not so much! Everytime I looked away to tend to him, the man would stop talking until I made eye contact with him again!! So irritating! BUT that wasn't even the first part of it! When we got here the people who told us we won and do this seminar said we could choose from certain hotels to stay at, and we did. However, they put us where they wanted to. Not the hotel where we said. That hotel was so ratty! The carpet was wet, bathroom cabinet doors wouldn't shut and halfway hanging off the hinges, paint peeling off the walls and hanging off by at least 6 inches and the walls were stained. It was NASTY! Therefore, we decided to leave and stay somewhere else even if we had to pay for it. So we did! Then we went to the seminar and did all of that stuff. After it was all said and done, we got 2 adult passes for a day at Disney, which we knew was apart of the deal. Oh and listen to this, if we weren't crazy enough, when we switched hotels, the lady talked us into yet ANOTHER SEMINAR the same day!!!!! You heard me! We had one in the morning and one at 12:30. BUT we got 4 tickets for 195 as opposed to 320! So I guess it was worth it but THANK GOD it is over!!!!!!!!!!!
Last night, we decided to go to Downtown Disney. We went to the infamous T-Rex cafe. It was a blast. You must go. Grant was so fascinated! There were huge dinos everywhere that moved and roared. They had different parts of the building set up as different scenes such as, an ice cave, rainforest type area and an aquatic area. And at every 20 min or so the lights would dim and probe lights began to flicker and the dinos "came to life"! They roared and moved loud! Grant just stared and looked at each of them and said "Wow, Cool!"
He had the best time! We saw a statue of Buzz and he about died! SO we took a pic with him last night along with Mr. Potato Head and Donald.
NOW the real fun begins!! I can't wait to see his face today!! We go to Magic Kingdom!! I will try to post more later!!

I am having such a hard time keeping up with this blog! My wreath business is keeping me busy...which I am so grateful for!!! I had to have surgery last Friday on my kidney stones. They started moving 11 days ago (Tuesday) and then that Friday I had them lasered because I couldn't pass them. The doc had to go up closer to my kidney with the laser than he anticipated. When he went back in to grab the broken pieces, 2 of them slipped back into my kidneys. Just my luck right!! So I had to wear a stint all weekend. Talking about PAIN!!!I don't know if it was so much the stint causing the pain or if it was how far he had to go up to my kidneys and it was extremely irritated. So today, Friday is the first day LITERALLY that I have not had any pain and have not had to have any pain pills!! YAY!!! Though it stinks I have been laid up my whole vacation week off. BUT on the positive side, I didn't have to miss any days of school! I couldn't imagine having to be a work with that kind of pain! It was horrible!
Grant is getting so big! He is singing his ABC's all the time. He still loves Mickey Mouse and Cars. He also loves bulldozers and dumptrucks and tractors. We have them behind our house because there is a new phase going up. We have to go and see them every morning before school, every afternoon after school and sometimes at night to say goodnight! HE LOVES THEM!!!
I hope everyone had wonderful Thanksgiving holiday. We went home this past weekend to my parents house to celebrate with them. Its always fun to go home. Then Thanksgiving day we went to his mom's house. It was great to see everyone and spend time with them. Boomer took Grant riding on Pop's tractor. He had so much fun!! That is all he talked about all the way home.

We went to Lucedale to visit my grandmother. God love her, she is still hanging on. She has dimensia (SP?) So her mind comes and goes. She hates where she is but she falls and doesn't remember where she is half of the time. It all happened so fast. A few months ago, she was mowing the yard and cleaning her house and living on her own and then she got a kidney infection with a fever of 105 and it all went downhill from there. They think she may possible have lymphoma cancer but she won't let them to a bio because she doesn't want anything done. She keeps saying everyday, Lord why did you let me wake up today? It is just so sad. It is really hard for my dad to watch her go throught it. So please be in prayer for them. Thanks!!

This is a wreath that I had made for my front door. I just LOVE the turq. blue! My favorite color! My mom loved it so much that I gave it to her....It is a large grapevine wreath and is cut in strips with large yellow sunflowers.

Well, I have lots to catch you up on!! I have been so busy!! You would think that being off for the summer I would have more time, but I have been spending every second with Grant and LOVING every minute of it!!
First, this is Father's Day at my parents house. This is my dad and Grant being silly. My dad was sitting on the arm of the couch talking to us and next thing you know, here comes Grant climbing up to sit right there beside him just like him!!

Next, are pics of the 4th. We finally were able to attend the balloon glow! I was so excited to go! It was really neat. Grant loved the big balloons. Diamond Rio was also there playing. They were good. But there were so many people!!! You could hardly move! It was worth it though!! Then we sat in a parking lot and watched the fireworks! They were great. Grant didn't know what to think about them at first. He held on to Boomer then he was like, put me down! He oohed and aahed and clapped and screamed! I was watching him more than the fireworks!! It was really fun!

This past week, Grant has had the croop. I guess since the 4th from playing outside and getting hot and then getting cool inside...anyway he is finally better today. It has taken a week! But last week, he has clung to his puppies!! A sweet friend of mine gave us the black one and he adores it because it looks like our black lab, Scout! The other one he made at daycare! Isn't cute!

The other day Grant and I were outside playing with the water ball and on the swingset and we took a break to eat some ice cream. I remember when I was little eating push pops. So I bought some, sherbert. I haven't seen any other flavor before. He loved them!! Although I had to push it up for him! He got a bit messy but who cares he just got all wet again afterwards!!

Aquarium!

Monday and Tuesday we went to visit Boomer's sister and her family in Baton Rouge. We also went to the aquarium in New Orleans on Tuesday. Can I just say that place is ginormous!! It took 2 hours to tour it and that's rushing a few of the displays. Grant had such a great time! He didn't like being in his stroller much. He wanted to be out touching the glass. His expressions are just priceless! Those of you who were at his birthday party know exactly what I am talking about! He did the same thing with the penguins!! One of the little penguins waas playing with him in the corner of the glass case. He just yelled and jumped up and down. People kept telling us that his expressions were so funny!!

Playing in the Fountains

Gosh looking back at all my pictures, I can tell how far behind I am in the blogging world. A couple of weeks ago, we took Grant to the fountains here in town. Since it is still new, we were the only ones there, which was nice. Grant was hesitant as first but then LOVED it. He chased the water coming and going from each hole. Then he would put his foot over the hole and water would shoot it off of it! He had a blast! Luckily it was a nice day. Not too hot, nice breeze. But the fountains are very well shaded by an oak tree! Smart person! But poor Grant was shaking like a leaf he was so cold! His poor lips were turning blue. So before he got hypothermia, we decided to go! He didn't like out decision too much! He cried when we had to go. I can't wait to go back!!

Kolton got this water beach ball for Grant's birthday. It is so much fun! Grant LOVES IT!! He will run through the water and yell, "WATER, WATER!Like Water!" Then he will stop and come eat my sandwich!! Little monkey!! Thanks Kolton!!

Busy Busy Busy

You would think that being out for the summer one would be relaxing and taking it easy...oh but no! Those who know me, know that I don't stop! I HAVE to have a project of some sort going! SO... I decided to paint my kitchen AND living room. The LR got thrown in because there is no "breaking point" in the wall between it and the kitchen so we had to carry the paint throughout. It took about 4 days total. I am exhausted and sore! I think that my calves will be shaking permanently from standing on that ladder!! Here are a couple of before and after shots of the kitchen. I didn't do the living room before..sorry..I forgot!:)
Before: It was a goldy color. Pretty but our crown molding and cabinetry is an antique white so it was "blendy"! So we went for Vermont View..an Olive Green.

After...the green. I didn't have everything on the wall in the kitchen before I retook the pictures. I moved the bakers rack somewhere else and put a large mirror there. And I did not put the white frame by the door there either. It just didn't go with all the off white stuff. It feels good to have it all done and cleaned up and it all back in its place. I think I am a little OCD in a way...

Grant's 2nd Birthday Party!

Grant's party was supposed to be outside so that the kids could play on his new swingset but it rained all weekend and we had to have it inside! So I just dragged all his toys out and they all played with those. It was still fun! The Mickey Mouse cake was great! Tiffany did an excellent job on it. Grant had a great time opening his gifts. His reactions everytime he pulled the paper out was hilarious! He yelled and screamed! Everyone was just rolling! Thank you all for coming. It was definitely one to remember.

Redecorating!

Over Spring Break, Boomer and I redecorated Grant's room! We went on a limb and painted it in blue and did a football theme. OF course, Ole Miss! I framed the Sports Illustrated Magazine from 2008 since that was the first time that they had been on the cover since who knows when! I ordered this bedding and it just came in today! I am so excited!! The only thing left to do is hang the letters of his name up over his bed. We already had those covered in scrapbook paper in the old room so why not reuse them!!

Well, I am back! Sorry, it has taken so long to blog. Let's just say Art in the Park!!! Katie Witt and I have been planning it for our school for months now and it is finally over!!! So now I can get back to some sort of normalcy! I was going to update you on some pics a couple of days ago but when I put my card in there were no pictures on there! I was devasted! SO I have some new ones to share any way!
Today was Grant's Easter Egg Hunt party at daycare and I am so thankful that my principal let me go! She is so wonderful and understanding! I love her! Anyway, The little ones really didn't have a clue, nor did they care! They just wanted to play with the outside toys!! Who cared about the million of eggs that were laying out perfectly in the grass. However, Kolton got a bit curious about half way into it and went to a lot of eggs and just opened it up to see what was in it. When he realized there was nothing he threw it down! Here are a few pics!

Not much of anything else has been going on. I know we lead boring lives!! BUT we will be celebrating Grant's 2nd birthday in May so I'll be busy planning that! It will most likely be a Mickey theme because he LOVES Mickey! One of students went to Disney and brought him back a marshmellow Mickey Mouse! Too Cute!

We went home to Waynesboro last weekend. We always enjoy going home. We get to visit my family. We went to my nephews basketball game and that was fun watching 5th graders play. They had no idea what was going on! However, they could A LOT better than me! Those who know me KNOW I CAN NOT play basketball! I was terrible. I played one year in junior high...basically because I wanted to do it to be "social" and have my picture in the yearbook! My poor poor team. Luckily they didn't let me play much! BUT the ONE time I did play I got a foul and I scored 2 points by shooting 2 free throws. It was a miracle that the ball even went in. I swear an angel had that ball and put it in the goal!!!!But anyway, it was a good visit..Grant got to ride with my dad in the mule, which he LOVES!!! He loves my parents' dog, Booger and the cat, Tiger. Aren't these the cutest pictures of them!!

Gosh, it has been so long since I have last written! I have been so busy. I rarely have time to get on the computer except to do my lesson plans! But I wanted to share some new pictures with you! My little man is growing up so fast! I can't believe he will be 2 the end of May!
We dedicated Grant to the church a couple of weeks ago. We never got to do it when he was a baby because we had moved and didn't have a church. So it was important to us that we have him dedicated.He did okay. He was a little antsy. We stepped out after our part was done because I don't think he could have made it through everyone else!!

Grant's First Experience With Chicks!

We went home over the weekend to Waynesboro and had a wonderful visit. His BoBo looks much better! My dad has chicken houses and he got bitties yesterday. My dad brought 2 to the house to let Grant play with them. They were so cute! Grant loved them. Of course, he didn't know quite what to think at first. He was so funny!!

Boomer put one of the chicks on Grant's neck. He DID NOT like that one bit! What you see is Grant cringing and the chick is in mid throw so he can get the other chick off of him!

Grant's BoBo is looking better. This was Thursday. Sunday, today is looking much better. The bruise on his head isn't near as dark or big. However the black eyes are still there!

Friday, Grant was running through the house with one shoe off and one shoe on..apparently one had slipped off. They are new and a bit big. I told him to go and find his other shoe. Well, he took off running and he tripped and fell and hit the coffee table with his forehead!!! He started screaming. I scooped him up and it was already turning blue and had begun to pop out, which is good, But it sure did look bad. He would not let me put ice on it. He cried for about 15 minutes. I turned on Mickey Mouse and he finally settled down! Monday, the bruise had begun to run down his nose and around his eyes to give my sweet poor baby 2 black eyes! Today, it looks so much worse!!!

Where did 2008 go!!

This has been a wild and crazy year full of moving from house to house and city to city with a baby and starting all over in new places twice! But Boomer and I know that this is where God wants us to be and He will use us here. He has a plan for us and I pray that His hand will always be upon us. Well, let's see if I can recap the year!
Jan. 08
We were living in Waynesboro. I was teaching and Boomer was a lumber broker (funny, HUH!) He was pretty good though! We struggled with our life there. We had thought that God wanted us there because we were financially scared that we wouldn't be able to make it here. So we packed up and moved a couple of weeks after Grant was born. My parents were so gracious to give us 3 acres of their land for us to build the house of our dreams on. They even had the land pushed and leveled. While our house was being built, however, we lived in a rat infested rental house! Grant was just a few weeks old and I was crying non stop. All you could hear through the night were rat traps clicking!!! Finally we moved into our beautiful home.

Feb. 08
Loving our new house but still depressed about where we were. Don't get me wrong, we love our families and the people there but living there just wasn't for us. Anyway, Grant celebrated his first Valentine's Day!!! I can't find my Valentine's pics but this is around the same time.

April o8
I think Easter fell in April this year....who knows we've been through so much there is A LOT I can't remember!! Or keep straight! Grant celebrated his first Easter!! We were scared that he would hate the Easter bunny but he loved him! As he was sitting in his lap, the camera messed up and he just sat there content as could be!

We also celebrated my 30th birthday!

Out of school YIPEE!! And we celebrate Grant's first birthday with a farm theme. It was a lot of fun and there were tons of people there. Can you believe he HATED to dig in his cake!!

Boomer celebrated his 30th birthday!! He jumped on the bandwagon with the rest of us!!

July 08
We had been praying diligently about what God wanted us to do about moving back here. There were a lot of things that had to happen. Our house had to sell and it was in the middle of nowhere, we had to find new jobs, and a new house and Grant a daycare. God provided every one of those within 2 wks! God is good. That is how we knew to move back. We put it in His hands and He took care of it all. Unfortunately, the weekend that we moved Boomer's dad was admitted to the hospital in Hattiesburg and he passed away the end of July. It has been a tough year on Boomer.

Technically not Grant's first Halloween but one that he knew something was going on!

Thanksgiving was fun with family.....we traveled to Waynesboro. My parents got a new kitty!! Grant loved it!

Oh and who could forget the allergic reaction to the antibiotic!!!!

Santa was so much fun this year! We had it at my parent's this year. Grant really loved his Mickey Mouse and his slide and fourwheeler and clubhouse!! We are "Hotdoggin" all the time!!!

All in all, we are very blessed to have wonderful, caring, giving and understanding parents! They went through a lot with us and we thank and adore them!We look forward to a new year and to see what God has in store for us!

Wow, what a Christmas! We are very blessed to be healthy and have a wonderful family. As we were driving to Waynesboro the night before Christmas Eve, I was thinking about Christmas and just how special it is. God sent his son to save us. He continues to bless us everyday even when times are hard. It was tough this year because it was the first Christmas Boomer had without his Dad. We spent Christmas this year with my parents and did "Santa" there. It was super fun this year because he was old enough this year to realize what was going on. I wish you could have seen some of the expressions and noises he was making! The bright round eyes and oo's and wow's!! So cute! And of course, we forgot the video recorder!! Imagine that! But tons of pics so get ready! We found the GINORMOUS Mickey Mouse at Walmart for $10..can you believe that! Santa left Mickey riding on the four-wheeler. He ran straight for Mickey!! He got a Mickey Mouse Clubhouse which we have to take back because a part was missing!! We have had it for a month now but just opened it Christmas Eve night to set it up and realized that the hot air balloon was missing. But that's okay. He got a battery operated four-wheeler, couple of Elmo things like books, phone and bath toys and a Mickey Mouse flashlight and small airplane which Mickey rides in. Did you get that..... he LOVES Mickey and Elmo! My parents got him a slide and he LOVES it! Gosh, he got lots of stuff from lots of family members and he loves it all! He just doesn't know what to play with first. Thank you for all the presents and your love. We love you all so much!! You helped make this Christmas a wonderful one.

Christmas Party

Well, I have survived the week with excited children awaiting Santa!! It has been a crazy week! I am so glad that we get out at 10 tomorrow . Not only was our Christmas party at school but Grant had his as well! Destiny, I saw this website/magazine on your blog and you said you got a lot of your ideas from here and your ideas are always so cute! So I went to Family Fun and found these precious reindeer cookies and made them for Grant's class. I also made them magical reindeer dust and an ornament. So much fun! I love being a mommy and doing those things!!! I hate my friend Kara couldn't come, but no worries not many parents were there. Kara, Kolton was so funny! We were the last class to leave and he was the last person eating and FeFe tried getting him ready to leave and kept asking him if he was done and he would shake his head and she would ask again minutes later and he would say NO and then finally started to cry. Grant went over to pat him on the back like "it's okay man!". But it was funny!! He hushed when she walked away and realized that his Cheetos were staying!! HAHA! Got some cute pics but they couldn't stay together long enough for me to get great ones. Kolton minded Super! I told him to stand here and there and he went..it was MY child who kept trying to jump in my lap and not participate in the picture taking!! How do you do it??! Oh and you also need to show me how in the world to make a collage with these pics!!!

Let It Snow, Let It Snow, Let It Snow!!

Well, I can't believe that our school district made us go to school today and then we released at 11:30. Boomer was home with Grant and he got to experience his first snow...without me. I was so sad. A mother never wants to miss any "first" with their child. But I must say that my wonderful husband did a good job taking many pics and videotaping!! Grant LOVED the snow! He did not know what to think! He walked back into the garage at one point and accidently found "Christmas" presents. We bought him a Mickey Mouse Clubhouse because he adores that show and LOVES the hotdog song. When Boomer walked into the garage from filming, Grant was pointing to the clubhouse saying "hotdog, hotdog, hotdog!" over and over! It was funny. Boomer captured it all on tape! By the time that I got home from school, the snow was over and it was sleeting really bad and we couldn't get out in it. But it sure was pretty while it lasted!

I hope that everyone had a very blessed Thanksgiving with family. The older that I get, the meaning of holidays become more and more clear to me. Not that I didn't know what they meant before but for example, I used to love getting up and watching the Thanksgiving Day parade and then going to my grandparents for lunch to visit with family. Well now, the parade is just not as exciting as it used to be but seeing my family and soaking up every second I have with them and they have with Grant just means so very much more. Anyway, we had a great time at my parents house. I was able to take a few pictures before my batteries died!
Grant loved playing with the two new kittens that roamed up to my dad's house!! Aren't they cute!

This is Grant trying to give the kitten a hug, but it was a little to quick for him! So he caught his booty to hug instead!

Grant loves to be outside! He likes to look at the water, but don't worry, Boomer is with him every step!!!!

Okay so you notice the bruise under his eye...well he fell along with half of his class coming back from lunch. They walk in a line to and from lunch and one kid fell and it was like a domino effect...they all fell. Grant fell on a little girl's mouth and hit her teeth...OUCH!

Christmas tree, lights, and Santa!!

Well, I know some might think that I am weird but I put my tree up last weekend! I LOVE to look at my tree and just enjoy it and enjoy Christmas time. As much time as it takes to get it out and put it up to make it look good, dog gone it, I am going to put it up early and stare at it!! :)

Tuesday, I saw on an email that Santa was going to be at Bass Pro! How much fun! Boomer and I like to take Grant there to look at all the animals. Well, in the back they have a small "Winter Wonderland like" set up with Santa and reindeer and toy trains..it is so cute. You have to go! It is so much better and nicer than Northpark and not nearly a long line. However, Grant wasn't too fond of jolly ole' St. Nick this year. He did GREAT with the Easter bunny. We thought that would surely scare him too death.. but no he loved it. And the camera even messed up and he sat there in the bunny's lap like it was mommy holding him. SANTA...Well let's just say he knew it wasn't mommy holding him!! HE HATED IT! So therefore, Boomer and I had to get in the picture with him!! Oh the memories!!

Grant's First Hair Cut

Grant got his first haircut today. He does not have much hair at all but parts just wouldn't lay down. His hair is growing on top but not so much underneath. So it looks like an old man "comb over". Therefore, we got it trimmed today. I took 50 million pics!! I sat with him first in the chair. When they put the cape on....oh that was just it! He was not having that. SO Boomer stood up with him and he was fine!! He did really good. We are proud!:)

Grant had been sick last week. You know the cold funk... We tried to treat with Benadryl but it didn't help. He continued to cough and have a nasty green snotty nose. I took him to the doctor on Tuesday and she heard a little rattle in his chest. She prescribed an antibiotic that he hasn't had before, Suprax. On Thursday, Boomer noticed little red bumps around his little groin and thought it was a diaper rash...he failed to mention to me!:) So on Friday after his party I changed him and I noticed red spots on his upper thigh and around his groin. They were probably the size of a mosquito bit after you have scratched the mess out of it and has swollen up! I continued to look on him for more and saw that they were running up his sides. I immediately called the doc. She said it was probably an allergic reaction to the medicne and to stop giving it to him and to give him Benadryl every 6 hrs. So I did. WELL....Saturday morning, we woke up to this... Large welps all over him about the size of quarters and half dollars that were connecting so they looked ENORMOUS!

I totally freaked out!!! So I called the doc and would you believe it took them an hour and thirty min. to get back with me. I'm glad his air supply wasn't cut off!!! Any way the doc looked at it and reassured me that it was the medicne that he had been taking and she gave him an oral dose of decodron (or however you spell it! Creative phonetic spelling!!) Thankfully by the end of the day it had begun to fade somewhat. It looks so much better today.

It has been really busy around here lately! This week at school was really hectic. The kids were really excited about Halloween. I feel as though I got nothing accomplished!! Yesterday, I had some parents come and help with pumpkin activities and then they carved them. It was fun. The kids liked digging all the pulp out. They were amazed at how many seeds were in a pumpkin!! Then last night my friend Crystal and her little boy, Asher and Grant and I all went to the park for some fun. Asher was dressed as a penguin! He was so cute. Grant was none other than Superman! We let them get down and play on the slide and swing and Grant's little cape was just flying in the wind! It was so cute. We didn't stay but for an hour and as soon as we left, Grant passed out!! It totally wore him out! Which is good because it gave me the time to make treats for my class party and Grant's daycare party. I made chocolate covered marshmellows with sprinkles. They turned out good. I am so not a cook. I did figure out...DUH....after the first marshmellow that you should let the chocolate cool somewhat before you attempt to cover the marshmellow or .......YEP...it will melt!! HAHA!!
Grant's first party was today! I am so glad that my principal let me go. She is so wonderful and understanding. It was fun!!He has a new little buddy...Kolton. He is the sweetest thing! I can't wait to get the two of them together to play.

Well, not much news here...just busy with school! Grant is talking and saying more words everday. It is so amazing to see how quickly they learn.
Elmo Live is coming to Jackson next weekend! Boomer and I debated on whether or not to take Grant. I think we decided that he was too young and would be disinterested in about 20 minutes. Though he loves Elmo, we would probably have to leave WAY early because he would want to get up and walk and run!!! I wish that we could do more things! Like the fair.....uh- I don't think that would have worked well for a 1year old! This is really an inbetween stage. I think next year when everything rolls back around..like the circus and the fair, it might be better and more worth the money!
I can't wait until Halloween. A friend of mine and her little boy are going with Grant and I to the park for some fun the night before. The city is having a big "To Do" there and sounds like fun! Grant is going to be Superman!! I can't wait to take pictures and let you all see!! Sorry for the "Boringness" but not much is going on!! OH....If anyone has any great ideas on Christmas gifts around Grant's age, let me know. I want to get him things that I know are good and not a waste. We have couple of those. My best friend Jessica, has given me some ideal gifts that her little boy had at that age last year and we may use some of those. Thanks Jess!

Because daddy was having one, he HAD to have one too! I thought it was pretty cute. We brushed his teeth really good afterwards! Do I get brownie points for that? :)

Who needs a dishwasher when you have a little boy who will lick the bowl clean for you!! Especially when it is chocolate!

Grant has been really sick these past two weeks. He has had diarrhea for a week and 2days straight. We have gone through 70 diapers in a week. He would poop 10 times if not more a day. His little bottom is so raw! The doctor didn't seem to know what was wrong. I finally went back today. They pricked his finger again and he didn't even cry!! BIG BOY! Everything came back normal. I am sending another diaper sample in tomorrow. They will check for a parasite. It may just have been a bad virus. The blood is mostly gone just lots of mucous in poop. Today there were gel like bath bead look alikes in his poop. Scared me to death. My sister had me thinking it could have been parasite eggs!! But I called the doctor and she assured me that they couldn't be seen with the naked eye! HAHA! I was able to finally give him Immodium so hopefully this will stop it!! We have burn cream to put on his bottom because it is so raw! It looks terrible. I know it must hurt really bad. Keep praying for him.

Last week when he was sick I put him in the swing and he fell asleep. He felt horrible!

My parents came up this weekend. What a wonderful visit we had! They brought him this squishy lizard. It feels like it has beans in it. He hates it! He wouldn't hold it at first. Now he will only hold it by its tail by pinching as little of it as he can!

GO REBELS!! That was an awesome game! Ole Miss beat Florida!!Grant is a fan too! He found Boomer's hat and put it on all by himself, backwards, and started pushing his truck around the house!!!

Wow,I never REALLY knew how much I could love someone else other than my husband! Grant is my heart and soul! Those of you with children know exactly what I am talking about! Boomer and I were talking last night and he said that for his birthday or Christmas or whenever to not buy him anything, just buy Grant something instead! It is so true! You become so selfless and would buy them the world if you could! I find it hard leaving a store sometimes not getting him a little happy or a piece of clothing....Just to see him smile...I guess I know how my mom feels! Being a mom is the best thing in the whole world and I wouldn't change it for anything! My cousin just found out that she is pregnant and so is my friend Crystal. I am getting the FEVER!!! Grant is such a terrific baby that I am just ready. But we need to wait a little while... We need to get a little extra money coming in. I can't imagine two in daycare right now! We would so be in the hole month to month. We are living paycheck to paycheck now! Anyway, I wanted to share some pics with you all. Enjoy!!

Here lately, Grant has been attatched to his Elmo! He goes nowhere without it! Then lastnight after his bath, Boomer put on his cowboy PJ's and he had to ride his horse...for like 3 hours!! He cried when we had to put the horsey "in his stable" to go to sleep! He cried and cried....he NEVER does that! It was sweet and funny. We are fortunate enough to live close to a wonderful park. So Boomer and I took Grant to the park early Saturday morning before it got scorching hot to swing and play. He loves to swing! He just laughs and giggles and Does Not Want to Get Out! We even put him on the slide! He liked that too. There are so many advantages of living here and the park is definitely one of them!

So after this excitement. we had to go to Babies R Us to get some mosquito repellent for babies...I know...little too late to be getting it but oh well! Anyway, guess what we passed while in there? You guessed it! A Swing! So of course, we had to get it and Boomer had to put it up right away! He now goes to the back door and just stares at it like it is GOD! HAHA! He always wants to go out there. We had to take it down yesterday because of the storm and he cried and cried!

Okay so this one is a 3 step process so bare with me! Well, we took down the swing yesterday and this morning he managed to get into the computer room. He was awefully quiet and this is where I found him!!

So then a bit later we went and ate applesauce...forgetting about the swing...amazingly enough!! Needless to say it was all in his hair and he made his hair into a mohawk! When he gets sleepy, the hands go through the hair!!

Definitely will need a bath tonight!!

Last,but not least, I decided to come and post these pics and he came in here with me and the inevitable swing was behind me...as I was posting, I again noticed he was quiet and I turned around and this is what I found him doing. Okay do you think he LOVES his SWING!?

OKAY...my sweet Grant got bit AGAIN at daycare today. I was warned that this 1 yr. old class was a biter class but I guess I didn't think it would actually happen. Dumb Me! The first time happened about 2 weeks ago. He came home with a bite on his arm..like a full open mouth teeth print bite!! Then today.......I stayed late at school today to get some work done and they called me and said that he got bit right above his check bone, below the eye. ODD PLACE, I know! Only my child! So I asked how it happend, was there not enough supervision. BUT, as a teacher I understand that things happen in a blink of an eye and you have to tend to another child and then the mom side of me doesn't understand. I want them to watch those kids like hawks!! But that is nearly impossible. He screamed and cried. It looks bad to me. It looks almost like a burn. I hope it doesn't leave a scar. Poor Soul!!!

The beach was so much fun! We went to Lulu's Friday evening and the wait was an hour and a half and it was very humid due to the rain. So we decided to not stay. However, we all did buy Lulu Shirts (which was the whole reason why I wanted to go!!). We ate and went back to the hotel. We walked out the beach at night..Grant couldn't really see but he could feel the sand between his toes and he really liked it!! I couldn't wait to see his face the next morning! Then we decided to get in the pool. He hated it!! It was very cold! So we didn't stay in it long! we anticipated the rain so we got up early and went on down to the beach. Grant LOVED IT! I wish you could have seen his face when he saw the waves and when they hit him!! It was priceless. We would sit right where the water comes up to shore and he would just laugh when it got to him. He was throwing sand all in his hair. It sprinkled a bit while we were down there. Then it was time to head back in. Luckily, we got out early because it began flooding! Even though it rained, we still had a great time watching Grant experience new things! Got tons of pics. I couldn't choose and I still can't figure out how to do collages on my photoshop. I can't do anything on photoshop!! I really need help!!

Wow, it's been a while!

Wow, so sorry it has been a while. As you know, we moved....so obviously we had to turn our internet off until we got moved. Well, we moved in with Boomer's mom for 2 weeks until we could close on our house. The weekend that we were moving....Friday we began...Saturday morning early Boomer got a call about his dad and then Sunday morning Boomer's dad passed away,as most of you already know. It has been a really difficult time for him so please keep him in your prayers. So then of course once we finally got situated, I had to get my school stuff moved into my classroom. Those who know me, I throw nothing away! So I had a truck, trailor and my SUV loaded!!! It really stinks moving this much stuff SO MANY TIMES!! But I can assure you, we are HERE FOR A LONG TIME!!!! SO we just got internet Wednesday....YAY!! Back to the land of the living.
We have been doing well, everything is unpacked and mostly in its place except the guest room stuff. I would like to do a little painting in the house, but I tell you I just don't think I have the energy nor the time!
School started on Friday and THANK GOODNESS it started on Friday. I was so exhausted. I did not want to get up this morning!!! I have a good bunch..just chatty. I have two cop kids!!! One trooper and one Sherriff's office..So I think I have my bases covered now!!!! HAHA! BOOMER IF YOU ARE READING THIS...BABY I DON'T SPEED I PROMISE ;)LOVE YOU!
Grant started his daycare. We love it!! The people there are wonderful and very loving to him and reassuring to me! He cries in the morning still. That is just the most terrible thing! I hate it when he cries like that. I feel like I am abandoning him. But it is apapart of life. We pull up now and he just LOOKS at the building and starts huffing and his eyes get big and he starts to whine...we don't even make to the front door. Its kind of funny but so sad too!!
We are headed to the beach next weekend and I am so excited for a vacation. Boomer and I have ALWAYS gone to Six Flags ever since we were married except last year (pregnant) and this year. So we are headed to the beach with little man in tow! I can't wait to see what he thinks of hte sand and water!!!! We so need a break..moving the last two summers, having a baby and family things....IT IS TIME!! So there will definitely be more pics to come!!

WOW!! This may be normal ...or not....but my 13 month old just went to his diaper bag and brought me a diaper so I checked him and he had a dirty diaper!! You think he was trying to tell me he had a dirty diaper and to change him??!! Could be coincidental..... WELL, MOMMY THINKS HE IS A GENIUS!!!! :)
Also, something else cute, while at the hospital our nephew Michael was crying and Grant picked up his passy and put it in his mouth.....too sweet!!!!
UPDATE..............................
Boomer's dad was found unconscience and was taken to the hospital Sunday morning. He had a catscan done and it showed two hematomas on his brain, one on the left and one on the right. The doctor said that they had to operate in order for him to live. So they took him to Hattiesburg to do surgery. While doing the surgery, they went in on the worst side first and removed the clots. He nearly died on the table so they had to stop. The doctor didn't seem very hopeful that he would even survive the night. They brought in the chaplain to speak to the family. It was terrible and heartbreaking. But because of so many wonderful friends and family, Mr. Shell made it through the night. Matter of fact, he was trying to wake up. They took out his respirator and he tried to talk. By that night, he knew who we were and knew that visitation was every three hours instead of two. (He corrected his stepson!) It is totally amazing the power of prayer. However, lastnight he seized all night because he didn't have the proper medicine or dosage (I'm not sure). He is doing well today. He will be highly sedated the next couple of days. So continue to pray. The doctor is AMAZED that he survived the surgery, none the less, woke up!!! They say they aren't going to go back in to operate on the other side....he said it would probably correct itself(amazingly enough!) He is not out of the woods yet but things are looking up.
OKAY in the midst of all of this.....the Friday and Saturday before the surgery, we packed, loaded and moved!! WHO KNEW I HAD SO MUCH STUFF!! Well once I started packing it all came back to me pretty quick!! Leaving my family and signing papers and my parents land over to someone else broke my heart. It makes my stomach turn every time I think about it! Even though it was hard, I know it was right. God has been so good and faithful to us. HE continues to bless us. It has been a long last couple of days. We are physically and emotionally exhausted.
HOW HAS GOD BEEN GOOD?? WARNING>>THIS IS IN FULL DETAIL AND LONG!!!
It all started when we wanted to move back. We began praying extremely hard. I knew I wanted to come back, but did GOD want us to come back was my prayer. Boomer and I talked about it often. He wasn't enjoying an office job and missed being a cop. We knew that our house would be hard to sell, not because of the house itself because it is beautiful but because of its location. Just to give you a picture of where it is....imagine coyotes howling at night near your backyard, finding large large rattlesnakes in your yard, driving 30 minutes to town to work or to get groceries even. It was in the sticks to say the least. It is for some people but not for us!
Cheif offered Boomer a position at the PD but he had to turn it down because what if our house didn't sell for a year..it's not like he can commute 3 hours!! HE hated to because another position may not open up for months...So I was walking by a friends classroom one morning and she was transferring to another school within the district and I told her she had lots of packing to do. And then I came out and said that we were praying about leaving and if she knew anyone who wanted a house in a jokinly way. She said, matter of fact I do. Her sister and her husband were looking. Well, her sister was interested. I told Boom to go call Cheif an let him know what was going on. Because if another position came up, he would think of him first. He did, in the mean time I was giving Grant a bath and Boom walked in and said, I still have chill bumps! I was like, what in the world did he say??? Cheif never hired anyone for the position because something told him not to. Boom said we may be able to sell the house quickly. The position was his! Okay gang...that was GOD!! THAT was our confirmation. So that couple didn't work out but the girl I first talked to, she and her husband were highly interested and it sold in the same week. AGAIN>>GOD!!! (By the way my parents were in Hawaii the whole time and didn't know that we had sold the house. They knew we had plans to sell it. They didn't think it would be this soon)Grant got in a great daycare even though the waiting list is 1-2 years!! I have a job in the same school district. I mean everything is working out!!
We have a house but we can't move in until next week. So we are staying with his mom until then. We are extremely grateful!! Other than praying for a husband and to conceive a child and our safety in China I don't think I have prayed so diligenlty about anything and had full faith that it would happen. God has shown his power and grace. He is almighty and loving and will take care of you. Just follow HIS will.

Grant had his 12 month check up. He weighs 22 pounds and he is 29 inches long. He is in the 50th percentile in everything. He had to get 5 shots!!! It was aweful! As soon as we laid him down, he knew EXACTLY what was going on!!!! He got one in each arm and 2 in one leg and one in the other. So sad!! I must say though he was WIRED after it. HE was a WILD MAN then he crashed!!
He has learned a new word "hot". When he sees something hot he will say "ha ha". So cute! He has been shaking his head for no for a while now when he doesn't want anything more to eat or drink, etc...I am teaching him how to get off the couch the safe way...not head first! He is catching on. He is a pretty quick learner.
Well, we are moving next weekend. YUCK! I hate moving. I hope this is the last time!! We sign papers on Monday. It is kind of sad. I am really going to miss my parents. I still can't beleive I am leaving them but I know this is the right thing for us to do. Boomer started his job again. He was so excited to put his badge on and get in his cop car again!!

For those of you that don't know we are moving back to Flowood!!! Our house sold this morning. I am so excited!!But sad at the same time.I am going to miss my family terribly! I know that I am hurting them by leaving but I have to make my family and I happy. They understand but are sad. It is a difficult situation to be in and I don't wish anyone to live through. We are signing papers on Friday and should actually close in about 3 weeks because her husband works offshore. So we have got to get up there and start house hunting I suppose. So please continue to pray that I find a job at a school...any of you know anyone in a school? If so, please call them and ask if there is anything open and ask them to share my name with the principal. I need some connection. Please pray for my sweet and loving family..to help them understand why we are doing this and to find comfort in knowing that. If you can help us move we would be eternally grateful and hopefully THIS WILL BE THE LAST TIME!!!!HAHA!!!

My Baby Is Walking!!

Grant has been walking for the past few days. He just now starting to master it fairly well. He is so proud of himself. Sometimes, he gets too excited and falls. Its funny! I am so proud of him for being so smart and brave...my baby is growing up right before my eyes. Isn't God awesome!! I am so thankful that he has blessed us with Grant and allowed us to raise him. I just hope that we can continue to be good parents to him and be good Christian role models to him as our parents were to us.

Today I baked (YES, ME!! I baked a cake. It's not the prettiest in the world but it came from the heart!!) Boomer a chocolate cake and wrote on it with icing and yes WITH SO MUCH LOVE, I PUT 30 CANDLES ON IT FOR HIM TO BLOW OUT! When he saw the candles, he looked at me and said, "Are you going to light those candles...All those candles??!!" It was funny! He did blow them all out, on the first try! LOVE YOU BABY AND HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!

Wow... I have sat here and cried watching this slide and listening to the song. It is so sad to see my baby growing up. I don't want him to grow up!! At least not this fast!! He has taken several steps today! He took like 7 steps at once! How exciting! I was so proud and sad at the same time. I guess that is normal! HAHA!

Grant's 1st Birthday!

Grant's first birthday party was great! We had a lot of people show up. Lots of family and friends...thank you so much for coming. It meant so much to us! Grant was so overwhelmed with all the people here in our house! Not to mention all the toys!...oh my goodness, where will we will put them all!! I need a whole 'nother bedroom just for toys! He loves and plays with every one of them! The cakes turned out great..thankfully! I was so worried. The grocery store here was going to make them and then called me four days before the party and said that they couldn't do it because I wanted the picture done in icing. Why they couldn't tell me this the day I went there and ordered it, I will never know. So luckily I had heard of a place in Laurel called Sugarbakers. I had heard that they were good. I didn't have time to go to Laurel and show them a picture of what I wanted (I'm really picky...) So I just told them over the phone and told them I trusted them. As you can tell by the pictures, they did a MORE THAN WONDERFUL JOB!
Today at church, Grant just wasn't having it with me leaving him in the nursery. He just isn't used to the church nursery yet, so I stayed with him. I am glad I did because he took his first two steops today!! I teared up!! I was so excited! I can't believe he is growing up so fast right before our eyes. He is saying so many words, mama, dada, baba, nana, troopa, bugga(Mydad's dog is Buger) juice, and dog. He loves to listen to music and dance! It is so funny. He likes to watch the Wiggles and Higgleytown Heros. I think that its more for the music than anything. He still isn't walking yet, but is close. He is a super fast crawler though!! He weighs 22 pounds. We go to the doctor in a couple of weeks for our checkup so I will have to update you more on that.
He is a happy baby. Though, he is going through some kind of sleep phase. He was sleeping through the night. THen all of sudden, he started waking up in the middle of the night for no reason and to save us sleep because we both work and get up at 5 we jsut put him in the bed with us...I know I know bad idea. Well, I have to fix it. Anyone have any ideas????

Well, for those of you who don't know, we are selling our house. So please be prayer that it will sell. We feel like that is what God wants us to do right now.

Well, I got a new car or should I say SUV! I got a used Sequoia! I am so excited. It is so roomy. And we really needed the SPACE. We got an excellent deal on it too. When we went to the dealer, he let me drive a four-runner which I wasn't crazy about. It was blue and had been smoked in..YUCK! But it was ok. I had seen the Sequoia on the lot but knew that I probably couldn't afford but out of curiosity I asked how much it was as I was test driving the other. He whipped out his papers and surprisingly said it was the same price as the four-runner! I flew back to the dealership and nearly fell out trying to get to the SUV before anyone else got their hands on it!! HA HA! Are you drawing a mental picture of this?! It is beautiful and everything we need and I love!

It has been a chaotic week. It is the student's last week, thank goodness!! So trying to keep them busy and clean up and do paper work, etc.... Then Trying to keep this house clean....need I say more....it definitely isn't like it used to be! But that is okay. I wouldn't have it any other way. Grant's party is Saturday so we are trying to get everything stored away and cleaned up. We landscaped tonight and will finish tomorrow. WHEW!!! Lots to do!

Grant will be one on Thursday and I can't believe it is here already. It goes by so fast! He is such a great baby. He will be walking soon. He really wants to and is close. My dad said that he took a step tonight when we weren't there but I told him it didn't count since we weren't there!

Daycare Finale

We had our daycare program at the church tonight. There was a slide show for the parents before it started. Then, they have this big red buggy you push that carries 8 babies and they pushed in around the sanctuary. It was so cute!! Grant started to cry right before they came out all because the buggy stopped!! He wanted it to move!! Or so we thought. He made it around the church until he got to us and started whining. They they gave all the babies to their parents and we got to watch the older kids perform their program. It was cute. Grant didn't make the last 10 minutes. He started getting fussy because he had a red poopy diaper!! Antibiotic..need I say more!! It was great. Wonderful first experience and can't wait to have more!!

PHOTOSHOP ILLITERATE!!!!

Ok..so I finally hit a milestone in figuring out how to do stripes on photoshop and I am ecstatic! Then I figured out how to make them lighter and darker...GO ME!! Well, here is the problem... if the picture is any larger it will go behind the last two stripes as well as the writing..which is weird!! UH..WHY is it doing this??? If you know, PLEASE let me know! By the way I tried to download it to here and it wouldn't do it so if you know how to do that to let me know.

I just couldn't resist showing you this picture. He is the sweetest thing. There is no better thing than being a mother. I am so blessed that God finally allowed us to have a baby. I know that it was all in his timing. But it was so hard to wait and go through all the fertility treatments and hardships of Boomer's sickness and more waiting. God was really teaching us patience and trust and faith. Grant was SO SO worth the wait....any baby is. They are truly a gift from the Lord.

Here is a picture of the beautiful necklace that my wonderful husband got for me. Isn't it beautiful!! He is so wonderful and the best! I am so blessed to have him in my life. He has been so loving and understanding through this tough year. I love you Boom!!

I am the big 3-0 today!! I feel no different! HAHA! I am just blessed to be living another healthy day with my family! Boomer and I went to Hattiesburg last night to get my birthday present....he waited till the last minute, imagine that!! However, I am glad that he did...I got a great gift!! He and I think A LOT alike. He knew that I wanted a journey necklace and we saw one last weekend that I loved. So we went back and got it. I got to pick it out. He did good..even though he had some help!!!

We went to my mom's for lunch today and celebrated with my sister and her family and of course none other but chocolate cake. It was a great day!!

Grant's Room

Well, I have finally finished Grant's room..at least for now. There are still a few touches I want to do and probably won't get to but oh well. I like it a lot. I painted it a darker brown. It was a lighter khacki. The canvases (That might be spelled wrong!) were painted by me. I got ideas looking on other blogs and from friends. I spent my whole spring break doing it. I didn't mind though because I enjoy doing things like that. The fourth picture down, the sideways picture, one of my students' mother painted it for me for my baby shower that they gave me. It was a surprise!! And boy was I surprised. I miss Flowood!!!

Well, this is my last day to be 29!!! LIVE IT UP!!!

THIS PICTURE DESCRIBES HOW I FEEL!!!!!!

Wow, what a week!! Have you ever wanted to just beat your head against a brick wall????Well, today I do! If I said something to my school kids one time, I said it 15,000,000,000.....LITERALLY!! I told my kids to read their books and when they got finished they could take an AR test. We have 3 computers in our room, so I said when one person gets up, you may get up and go take a test without asking me. I was TRYING to grade papers..I bet 10 little angels came up to ask me if they could take a test. I just laid my head on my desk and just thought ,"You have got to be kidding me!! What planet were you just on??" There were plenty more incidences but I won't bore you.

GUESS WHAT?! I WASHED MY CAR! IT HASN'T BEEN WASHED SINCE GRANT WAS BORN. ISN'T THAT TERRIBLE? BUT WHO HAS THE TIME OR ENERGY...I WANT TO SPEND IT WITH GRANTSTER!

Well, I was going to landscape my yard this weekend but it looks like we are getting 1000% rain!! I am so disappointed. However, SUNDAY IS MY BIRTHDAY! I WILL BE THE BIG

3-0!!! I am okay with it..I am not one of those that stresses about that milestone or should I say MIDLIFE CRISIS!

My First Taste of Strawberries!

Grant had strawberries for the first time last night. That may be one of those fruits that you are not supposed to give them until they are one but we did not give him much at all...and no allergic reactions. It was so funny how he reacted to the taste!!! You can see in the pictures that it was a bit sour at first!! HAHA!! PRICELESS!!

Well, here is a picture of our house! I managed to click the button just as the camera went dead!!!!! We are very blessed and are enjoying it. We hope that you all can come and visit. Yes, We are still working on the grass part! We actually planted grass and have it up by the road and fence but it washed away the closer it got to the house! Imagine that.....It has been a muddy mess, but at least it isn't red clay still!!!

My First Post

Well, I have FINALLY entered the world of blogging and am so excited!! I can't wait to figure out all of this stuff and how to work it!!

We are finally moved in and settled in to our house. We are enjoying it. I will have to send you a picture of it as soon as I go outside to take one!!!

Grant is getting so big!! I can't believe he will be 1 in May! I am so sad that he is getting so big TOO fast! He loves to play Peek-a-boo with you...he will duck down and hop up like a jack in the box and just giggle!! It is the sweetest thing! He is getting ready to walk. He is letting go and standing on his own. It won't be long! He also, LOVES the outside! If he ever falls, go outside...INSTANT MEDICINE!!!

We are really missing being in Flowood. We miss everything about it. Boomer misses being a cop and I miss teaching there. We miss our friends and most of all Pinelake. Not another church quite like that one! I don't want to base my spiritual life soley on church, but I think that it is a HUGE part of it. At least it is for me. It really fills me up and gets me going and keeps me going. It is what I need. I guess it is different for different people. I want to raise Grant there and experience the greatness. I just love it there.

Who knows, we may be back soon enough??? We are praying about it.
